DEN → JFK → DCA: 2015 NYC Camp and Drupal GovCon

We were excited to host sessions and be a partner at NYC Camp and Drupal GovCon again this year. Both conferences brought together the Drupal community to learn, contribute and network through compelling keynotes, informative sessions, and social events. Here’s a glimpse of our busy week and a half on the East Coast.

Our first stop was to the UN global headquarters in midtown Manhattan for NYC Camp. The conference was filled with summits, camps and sessions focused on a variety of topics including front end development, and technology in the Higher Education and Nonprofit sectors. At the Nonprofit & NGO Summit, Clayton Dewey led a lively discussion on Content Strategy and Analytics. Aten team members also led the following sessions:

Following NYC Camp, we headed down to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland for Drupal GovCon. The 4th annual Drupal GovCon North America sold out this year and featured exciting keynotes such as Drupal Core co-maintainer Angie Byron (aka webchick), Erin Braswell from the Center for Open Science, and Dr. Darrell Hurt who founded the NIH 3D Print Exchange. The conference also featured Joe Crespo who offered an engaging session called Old Dogs New Tricks: Supporting Websites after Launch, in which he discussed the challenges that Aten encountered when building its Consulting team and how we overcame those challenges to build a dedicated revenue generating team that’s doing incredible client work.

On top of all of the great summits, sessions and group discussions we always enjoy seeing old friends and meeting new people who share the same passion for open source as we do.

That’s not all! We’re thrilled to be a design sponsor and speaking at Design4Drupal again this year, and hosting a session at Drupal Camp PA this weekend, August 1 - August 2. Follow us on Twitter for highlights from both events.
