Project Review Wednesday: Contact Environment

There are currently 75 new Drupal contributors awaiting review of their first project. This is a great place to contribute to the community and learn about interesting upcoming projects, for example...

Module: Contact Environment

What does it do?

Drupal provides a core Contact module that provides a contact form on a site. After submitting the form, a predetermined recipient is emailed the submitted form data. This is a nice feature, but what if you wanted to know more about the person contacting you?

In comes Contact Environment. This module adds user agent, IP address, and HTTP referrer information at the end of email messages generated by Drupal's Contact module.

This information can be highly valuable. Imagine a situation where a person is contacting you in order to report some feature on your site misbehaving. No longer is it necessary to reply back and ask them to email you details on their browser version!

Look Useful? Review it!

If this sounds like something you'd like to see readily available on Drupal.org, you should review it and help make that happen.

Review It

Pro Tip: If you've never reviewed a project application before, you can find instructions for reviewers on Drupal.org and the Code Review group is happy to help more people get involved.
