Project Review Wednesday: Taxonomy Tools

There are currently 93 new Drupal contributors awaiting review of their first project. This is a great place to contribute to the community and learn about interesting upcoming projects, for example...

Module: Taxonomy Tools

What's it Do?

In Drupal 7, Taxonomy took on some functionality previously available only to nodes, a change I was excited about. Taxonomy Tools builds upon that by allowing you to also publish taxonomy terms. It even allows you to schedule the publish date. Another blessing is the ability to copy terms and/or hierarchy branches. These are just two of the tools available with this module.

Potential Uses

The ability to easily copy Taxonomy terms is a wonderful one, automating a tedious task in the site building process. Also, I have certainly worked on projects where Taxonomy terms were being treated very similarly to nodes and the ability to publish or unpublish them would have been great. Taxonomy Tools also gives site builders the option to set permissions around specific taxonomy terms, which is definitely helpful in fine tuning control of a site using varying roles.

Look Useful? Review It!
