Denver Drupal Meetup Recap, January 2012

It has to be said that the January Denver Drupal meetup was a far more interesting live television broadcast than the President's State of the Union address. We didn't have nearly as many viewers or inspire a drinking game, but we also did not have any bitter partisan politics characterized by half of the audience applauding random statements while the other half made disapproving facial expressions.

September Denver Drupal Meetup Recap

September's Denver Drupal meetup was packed, not only with attendees, but also with information as all of the night's presentations were "lightning talks" - 5 minute presentations followed by a maximum of 2 questions. We started the night with the usual round of introductions along with the (mildly horrifying) question of, "What would you use, if you couldn't use Drupal?" The answers covered a broad range of existing open source CMS products, but my favorite response was from Jordan, who said, "I'd stop building sites and go teach hang gliding.... [pause]...

Custom Commerce Checkout Panes

We've created a number of paid membership sites at Aten and as we've committed to creating new sites in Drupal 7, I was excited to take advantage of fieldable entities and the new Drupal Commerce system.

June Denver Drupal Meetup Recap

DrupalCamp Colorado 2011 gave many people their first taste of the friendliness, helpfulness and overwhelming awesomeness of the Colorado Drupal community, so it wasn't a big surprise to see the June Denver Drupal meetup filled with new faces. If you weren't able to attend DrupalCamp Colorado, many of the sessions were recorded and are available on the DrupalCamp site or from Archive.org.

April Denver Drupal Meetup Recap

The Denver Drupal meetup continues to grow, and despite bringing in extra chairs, every seat in the room was taken at the April meetup. But don't let that deter you from coming to future meetups! More people in attendance means more people who can answer your drupal questions and more community members to network with.

After the standard round of introductions, we spent some time with general community announcements:

DrupalCamp Colorado 2011

The DrupalCamp Colorado website is live and registration is open! The site uses the COD install profile to implement much of the registration, sponsorship and other camp related functionality. It also features Ken Woodworth's "Yeti" design. If you attended DrupalCon Chicago, you may have already encountered the DrupalCamp Colorado Yeti. Yetis are known for their love of the Colorado mountains, good beer and Drupal... which makes the yeti the perfect DrupalCamp Colorado mascot!
